How does the velocity from the stroboscope (transition and maximum) affect the display? In the manual I can’t find an explanation.

Hello Lutz, you are right. I need to update the manual to cover the strobe speed setting.

The speed of the strobe is driven by the current deviation from the tuning target. To get the frequency of the strobe, the current deviation is multiplied with the ratio specified in the settings (defaults to 7.5 rpm per cent). Deviations larger than the given maximum are clipped at the maximum value.

Hello Frank, almost, thank you. I am waiting for the explanation in German in the manual. For now I am ok with the default settings, I just wondered that there is something to tweak. The whole pianoscope-App is so well thought out, versatile and user-friendly, it’s only on you to communicate carefully with the current piano and setting the pins properly to achieve excellent results - a joy to use!

Lutz Thank you! I am glad you like it. I will release the updated manual together with version 1.5 in the next couple of days. This is the part about the strobe speed I added to the German manual:

Die Geschwindigkeit des Stroboskops stellt dar, wie weit die momentane Tonhöhe vom Stimmziel entfernt ist. Wählen Sie hier, wie stark sich die diese Abweichung in Bewegung übersetzt.

Die Bewegungsfrequenz des Stroboskops (in Umläufen pro Minute) ergibt sich aus der momentanen Abweichung in Cents multipiziert mit der gewählten Übersetzung. Das Stroboskop wird jedoch nicht weiter beschleunigt, wenn die Abweichung größer als das gewählte Maximum ist oder die Frequenz bereits 400 Umin erreicht hat.
