I've become quite familiar with the Tuning Styles menu and plots and have wondered, as I'm tuning, what my current deviations are doing to the final tuning. Sure, I've got the target tuning style I'm working toward, but let's be honest that almost no one hits 0.0 cents for every note, me included. I would be very interested to see what the resultant interval plot looks like if I choose to leave a note a bit sharp or flat from target (say, to account for seasonal differences and such) instead of what the result will be if I'm perfectly on with the target tuning style.
So, some thoughts on what that might look like:
- A menu option (like "Show Actual Pitches") in the drop-down menu
- Either have it toggle between the target tuning style plot (what it is now) to the actual tuning plot based on the inharmonicity and measured pitches, or overlay the actual tuning plot on top of the target (yes, this will likely get messy quickly depending on how many interval lines are displayed, but it is what it is)
P.S. I've wanted a similar thing in the partials plot, to not only show what the target should be, but what I'm currently at if I leave it as-is.
