I just wanted to say how pleased I am with Pianoscope's pitch raise
program. I have a lot of school tunings which regularly go up 16 cents at the
crossover (from wound strings to treble strings) during the summer
and down 16 cents in the winter...tapering off as I continue up and
then jumping up or down similarly at the second break. The pitch
raise result mostly ends up within minus 1 and plus 1 cents which is
very good indeed.
Today I tuned an old Ibach upright which is very sensitive to
temperature and humidity and tends to go sharp or flat rather
differently from many pianos I tune. I tuned it to 440hz one year
ago and today I found it had gone 20cents sharp , in the lowest octave
and a half , then the rest of the piano and gone sharp a very even 10 cents
all the way up. It isn't very often I find such an even rise. The point I want to make
though is that the pitch raise , or rather lowering , resulted in much the same excellent
result as I mentioned above. A tidy up in fine tune mode and a nice result.
