Pitch detection delay?

Has anyone else noticed a lag in pitch detection in pitch raise mode (I do 99% of my tuning here)? I'll play a note (entire range or chromatic up) and often it's a full second or more before it changes to the correct pitch. I'm using an iPad Mini (6th Generation) running the latest OS. I started noticing this after the last significant update. I haven't changed cases or anything since I first started using it. I haven't done any troubleshooting on my end yet (resets, etc.) but wanted see if there was any other reports of this. I don't find a lag in any other aspect, just pitch detection.

Hi Stefan,

I did have this same issue about a month ago with my iPhone. After I removed my Otter case it seemed to improve. But recently I noticed it still does it, mostly in the upper treble section. The lag was long enough on some pianos that I would choose to finish aurally because of the long pauses before the meter would respond/move.

I have wondered if it is my iPhone microphone having issues…

I am not aware of this issue. I first would try to force shutdown and restart the device. And if you are on iOS 26, make sure you first update to iOS 26.1 which came out today. Please let me know if this helps.
