Avg and Mid readings when optimizing pitch

I’ve recently noticed when measuring to “optimize pitch” when starting a tuning that two calculated numbers appear at the bottom of the graph. I think this is new (though perhaps I’ve just not noticed it before…).

The first (“Avg”) appears to be the average distance in cents sharp or flat of all of the notes measured so far.

What is the second (“Mid”)?

mbyrley The first is the arithmetic mean of all deviations from the target tuning curve, and the second is their median (the middle value after sorting). The median is a better indicator for the general trend as it is robust against single outliers.
