Actual Pitch = Frozen or what?

When freeze is activated the tuning screen shows two lines, a frozen pitch based on a fixed timespan, and a moving line indicating the current pitch. In the tuning curve view, are the “actual pitch” dots indicating the frozen pitch or an average over the duration of the note?

OldMike Red line indicates the actual pitch over the entire duration of the note — in most cases it fluctuates.
Black line indicates the pitch at a specific moment after the note is struck.
If you hold your finger on the freeze icon, you can set this time point.
This time can be further adjusted in the settings.

Triangles – can be set to display the ideal (target) pitch (in coarse tuning mode) after the entire piano has been tuned, or to show where the note should be placed so that, after tuning, the lines are at zero.

OldMike When measuring the inharmonicity, the user is directed to strike and hold each note for 1 second. The Freeze function, conversely, sets the pitch between 300 and 600 milliseconds, depending on the register. As such, it seems as though the inharmonicity measurements are averaging just a slightly longer duration of decay. @Frank Illenberger - can you confirm?

OldMike The actual pitch dots in the tuning curve are currently not taken from the frozen pitch. The current reasoning behind it is that I wanted to be sure that when tuning, the actual pitch dots represent the pitch at which you left a note. The freeze is always taken at a fixed time after an attack. But you can keep on changing a note's pitch long after striking the attack - especially with long sustaining bass notes. So I wanted to be sure not to miss this. I also wanted to protect it against spurious notes. So what I came up with was to require at least four seconds of sound before I record it as an actual pitch. And then I take a median of the pitch recorded in the last second.

That makes sense. Thanks Frank. So the actual pitch marks are set after measuring IH, and then again as tuning occurs.
