Recording and filtering partials?

Either I am confused or there’s a bug in the partials function. On pages 53-54 of the manual it describes recording 2 notes, selecting an overlapping partial and playing the sound to hear the beats. This worked when I did it for expected values, but for Hold (actual recorded value) it did not work. With the speaker icon on, double tapping the gray area doesn’t turn the partial spectrum blue. With it off, the partials turn blue and the second note shows up. But then turning the speaker on erases the blue partials and plays only one sound without beats.

What am I doing wrong?

OldMike I am not sure what you want to achieve. Why do you want to turn the tone generator on while hold-recording partials?

I’m trying to follow the instructions on page 54 of the piano scope manual.

“If you now tap a bar of a partial collision, pianoscope plays the recording of both involved partials over
the speaker or a connected headphone. You can now easily identify the resulting beats.”

When I follow the instructions that precede this, it doesn’t seem to work for me.

OldMike The replaying of recorded partials is independent from the tone generator. You have to be in partial hold mode for this and use the double-tap in the empty space.
Once the regular tone generator is activated (tapping the speaker), the double tapping does not have any effect.

According to the manual, when you select the bar of such a partial collision, pianoscope displays the frequency of the expected beat in the upper right corner. BUT I could not see the beat rate, instead still see the "cents". Not "bps"/

Tony The beat rate feature is currently only available for the Expected mode, not for Hold mode. I may add this in a future update.
