Partials View

I have eventually shelled out some money and bought pianoscope. Glancing through the manual about the partials view I did not realize how useful it is for learning aural tuning especially the interval and beats. I have a couple of questions though.
When you have measured the piano but are not tuning just messing with the tuning file. Selecting a interval and then a coincident partial is the beat rate shown calculated from measured partials and the style selected.
When at the piano and you have partials view set to hold and measure one note double tap and measure another note. Selecting the coincident partial is the beat rate calculated from the pitch at that time so if you change the pitch of one note and remeasure them both the beat rate will be different.

Hello Johnmac, thank you for supporting pianoscope! It's great that you find it useful for aural tuning.
The beat rate that is displayed in the top right corner of the partials view is calculated from the tuning target pitches which are derived from the inharmonicity of the instrument and the chosen tuning style. The beating from actual recorded notes can differ from the calculated beat rates if the recorded strings are at a different pitch. I don't currently show the actual beat rates of the partials. But I could implement this as a new feature in a future version.

Just noticed that I made a mistake with my name, it should be Johnymac.
I am sorry Frank I was getting I little confused which is quiet easy for myself. I was just writing a long explanation of what I was doing away from the piano and then at the piano measuring coincident partials but then realized when recording a interval it is not the beat rate indicated but cents. The manual in the Aural Training section does not explain what this indicates.
Was also wondering in future updates as far as aural training is concerned what do you think about showing what check notes there are for example 4:2 or 6:3 octave or do you think this would over complicate things and defeat the purpose of a ETD in the first place.
