Well, this is what I have been working towards, tuning my own piano for the purposes of a recording. 🙂

I'm an all-round amateur adult beginner as you can tell. I tuned the piano in 3 hours under less than ideal circumstances -- the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping, so I couldn't be loud. I recorded the piano about 24 hours after tuning.

How did I do? 🤷‍♂️

Wow, congratulations on your tuning and thanks for sharing the video. I added it to the playlists on the pianoscope YouTube channel. Do you use the impact CyberHammer on a grand? I thought they were only meant for being used on uprights. Or do you use the symmetric grand version?

Yes, I use the Grand CyberHammer and it has been a game changer for me. I did try the traditional hammer at first but I realized that I don't have the physical strength and dimensions needed without causing myself an injury in the long term.

Tell that to the people at the factory. When I started 25 years ago, I tuned 15 instruments in 8 hours, including smoke breaks. 🤣😉
Everything only with ears.

But you're good that you managed to tune it. It's pleasant to listen to.

The middle is tuned normally. Starting in the middle of the 3rd octave and below, something is wrong. The bass is not tuned correctly, it sounds higher and therefore gets lost. You need to work with the styles to put the bass in place and make the octave temperament (A3-A4) with less extension.
