I also had something very similar in a school with a bad network. When I wanted to measure the inharmonisity, I got an ad "Only free viewer possible" (or similar). After I restarted the app, it worked normally again.

Thank you both for your response. It was quite frustrating to have the app turned into the free viewer when I was on a time crunch. I also restarted the app several times hoping that would fix it, but it wasn't until I went back outside that I had sufficient service that it started working again. Thankfully, this is the first and only time so far this has happened, but hopefully a reasonable solution can be implemented to save others some grief over the surprise.

Let this be no criticism, Frank. The app is wonderful and so helpful. Thank you for creating it!

Thank you for reporting this. I am aware of this problem and I am currently trying to reproduce it to be able to find a fix. Some customers have reported that switching the iPhone to Airplane mode fixes the problem for them.

I did try that as well, but the problem continued until I was able to connect to the school's WiFi. Then the issue went away. For what it's worth, my other apps that rely on cell service (like texting, phone calls, etc.) was also very poor, so your app wasn't alone with the problem. Thanks for looking into it.

This happened to me for a few seconds today and I was connected to mobile data. It may have been weak for a short time.

It happened to me 2 times on a device in which I have no internet connection. Just quit the app and the problem was solved.

Happened to me again. Quitting pianoscope didn’t help. Turning off WiFi and mobile data then allowed it to work. The only thing I worry about would be if the saved tuning file was only in iCloud and couldn’t be loaded. I could of course just make a new file.

I've just released pianoscope v2.7.3 which should fix the licensing problem that could occur in areas without cell reception. Please update and let me know if it problems should persist.

Had the problem again today with V2.7.2. Also a reset of the app and the iPhone did not help. In the schoolyard I had network and could load the update. After that, everything worked without problems. Have you also noticed that this error usually occurs in school buildings, rarely in private customers? Does anyone have any idea why this might be? Too many phones in one place....?

I’ve only had the lockout in private houses. Why didn’t you upgrade to version 2.7.3? We know 2.7.2 has problems. Using the latest would have helped to tell that the problem has been corrected.

Ok, then it was just a coincidence that I usually had the problem in schools. I just forgot to download the update.
