MilanDka What tuning style did you use? If you prefer a larger stretch, I suppose that you don't want "Default" or "Octaves Pure" but rather "Twelfths Pure". Did you try that?

For the first time I used the default coarse and fine tuning and I didn't like it very much in the base. So I modified the default in the way I already wrote and saved it under the name Low Bass.
Your program calculates a very nice and regular temperature.
Maybe using pure octaves will be better for me. I'll try it on Monday

Hi Frank,
today I was trying to tune pure octave, twelve and fifths lower middle and bass on a Hoffmann V183 piano. Here is my experience I consulted with the boss-intoner: All modes tuned too sharply the lower center and extremely sharply tones 1-18. When we tuned the lower center with our ears, it was about 4 cents darker. Bass tones 18-24 4 cents darker and lower bass up to 20 cents darker per ear compared to software. Diskant was basically unchanged.

From which part does the pianoscope count pure octaves? It doesn't even tune octaves in 1 and 2 octaves of bass.
I heard the same from the pianoscope tuning recordings on YouTube.

Edit: If I tune the bass with the Verituner Clean style and the average temperature, then it is almost identical to the tuning on the ear.

thanks for trying this. I had other customers complaining about the bass being too sharp. Which of the YouTube recordings do you mean? I will investigate this. If you want, you could help me by switching pianoscope into a debug mode in which it will record and store all the audio while measuring inharmonicity. You could record the V183 for me. This will only take three minutes.

In the inharmonicity view, tap ten times onto the message in the center. This will enable the secret debug menu.
Now go to the debug menu and choose „Start Recording“. Now you can measure the inharmonicity like you did before when you tuned the piano.
If you have finished, got to the debug menu again and choose „Share Recording“ and send the result to support@pianoscope.app.

Thanks for the response. I'll try to upload it, but it will probably be a different model. I'll see what I'm going to be voicing.
Maybe I wrote it wrong... The bass and lower tenor were too sharp - the tuning was too high than I wanted and I tuned it in my ear. About the values I wrote.

Hi, Rick. Isn't the high bass for you in the first video? At the time I wrote. The high tones are also too high, but I don't have a problem with that.
The whole piano in the second video is too sharp (intonation - voicing).

In the first video the bass does sound a bit sharp but not excessively so. In the second video I don’t think there is much playing in the high treble to tell.

Hi Frank,
I have a few bugs about your software.
On iPhone SE 2016 - current firmware, fresh hard reset, no SIM, no WIFI, no bluetooth, installation only pianoscope and Verituner - If I interrupt piano tuning, turn off the display and after a few minutes turn on the device, the pianoscope gets stuck, does not measure anything and helps ejection application and restart the application.

On the iPhone 11 - the current firmware, with SIM, with mobile data - if I want to measure inharmonicity once again, red reacts very badly to green. I have to play each tone 5 times, for example.

MilanDka Milan, thank you for the bug reports. Bug #3 - the layout problem on the iPhone SE 2016 - should be easy to fix.

The other two bugs seem more severe as I cannot reproduce them. I have a couple of questions:

Bug #1: In the faulty state you describe: Is the orange audio recording indicator visible that the system paints every time the microphone is active?

Bug #2: This looks like a problem with the general audio configuration. Is the behaviour always the same? Does it change somehow if you shutdown and reboot the whole iPhone? You could do a debug recording of the inharmonicity measurements of some notes as I described before. Perhaps I can detect something by simply listening to the audio recordings pianoscope is making on your device.

Bug #1: yes.
Bug #2: Procedure for reproduction:

new piano
set everything you need
measure the pitch in all tones mode
make a pitch race tuning
start measuring inharmonicity - Here the problem appears

MilanDka Great that you are able to reproduce Bug #2. But I am not sure I exactly understand all the steps you are taking. Could you make a screen recording of the steps leading to the bug? This would be perfect for me to nail down this issue.

I try to write you ones more and better:

new file - new piano
Measure Inharmonicity - as fine tuning - all keys without last octave
Pitch Raise - overpull mode - used measure from Inharmonicity + last octave
tunning piano - overpull mode
after 40 minutes later one more measuring inharmonicity (because piano was 50 cent down)

At point 5, the problem is what I wrote. Red does not respond to green. You have to repeat each tone several times. and sometimes it doesn't work at all.
This is not always the case. I don't know what the next condition is for it to make a mistake. It makes on the iPhone 11 and SE 2016.
If I get the problem, I'll record the measurement as you wrote me and send it.

I don't think it's important. If you don't, the pianoscope will only correct tones where there is a different inharmonicity

I suspect that the 50 cent difference between the measurements is too much without deleting the old values.
If I have instruments that are so deep, I go straight to the pitch raise without point 2.
Only after the instrument is well prepared do I measure the inhamonicity.

MilanDka You don't have to delete existing values. You can simply record the same note again and it will replace the previous measurement.
