What do you want to compare the As against? Except for A4 you need a tuning curve which depends on the type of piano. In principle it could be possible to allow to open a pseudo document for generic/typical pianos. But I need to better understand what you want to achieve.

To quickly assess the mood, an A4 is usually sufficient.
What a tuning fork or a cheap tuner app does.
The rest can be quickly checked by ear.
I would like it if I could do it right away with Pianoscope.

Just had another thought for a future feature—when taking the aural tuning exam for the PTG Registered Piano Technician designation, you are required to tune A4 to an aural source with no visual indicators (e.g., a tuning fork). Is this something that could eventually fall into the scope of the app?

Stefan Borowicz You mean that the app should be the aural source, like a tone generator? I already have this request on the list of features, but the request was to assist in quick stringing.

Exactly...but in this instance, it would require the ability to function without any visual feedback...other than pitch selection, on/off and perhaps volume. I could contact a PTG aural examiner to get the specifics if needed.

Stefan Borowicz In the latest test flight build (901) I have added a new sound generation item to the main menu. The tones it generates have the same partial structure as the ones you measured from the instruments. So they should be good for auditory training. Please let me know if it works for you.

Stefan Borowicz Thinking about it again, it would perhaps make sense to also offer tone spectra that match the ones of tuning forks. Does anybody know what the partial structure of typical tuning forks look like? I guess they only have a weak harmonic P2 or at maximum a P3.

Frank Illenberger In Test Flight build 904, I have added a new option in the general settings to switch the partial spectrum of the generated tones between "Measured partials" and "Pure Sine". So if you want it to sound more like a tuning fork, you should switch to "Pure Sine".
