I have just released build 1151 of pianoscope v2.5. It brings a couple of important improvements:
Tuning in the high treble from C6 to C8 should now be much more consistent. The pitch indication, especially with the new freeze indicator, is now much less dependent on attack force and on device/microphone placement. And also dealing with strings exhibiting false beats is now much more pleasant and resonances from undamped or duplex strings should not affect the pitch indication as much as before.
The behaviour can be tweaked by a new option in the general pitch settings. It is called _False Beat Tolerance _ and you can set it to low, medium or high. It Influences the pitch display in the high treble for strings with false beats, as well as in instances of undamped string or duplex string resonances. A higher value enhances display consistency, offering greater flexibility in microphone/device positioning. However, this may result in a slight reduction in accuracy. But for most purposes, keeping it at the default medium setting should be fine.
I also implemented an option for the contrast of the new freeze indicator in the freeze settings.
Please let me know how the new signal processing works for you in the high treble.
