record and restore a professional tuning

I would like to capture the state of my piano after a professional tuning so that I can touch it up and restore it at will, afterwards.

Is this possible?

Frank Illenberger Just a follow-up question here -- does the Static Tuning recording take Freeze Delay into consideration, or are these independent concepts?

I guess the test would be if I 1) record a Static Tuning and then 2) restore it perfectly using Freeze Delay and then 3) record a new Static Tuning, would the Static Tuning in 3 closely match that in 1?

It's just a bit of ignorance on my side -- I'm not sure what exactly is recorded and contained in a Static Tuning.

navindra Currently, the static tuning does calculate the pitch average using an independent timing and does not respect the freeze timings. I might improve this in a future version. But you can nevertheless use it to recreate an aural tuning.

Frank Illenberger Could you tell me how to recreate the aural tuning without freeze timings? So far I'm only using PianoScope with freeze tunings and I'm uncertain on how I would do otherwise. 😃

As an aside, it would be great if we could get the feature to respect freeze timings... I need to use up my free piano tuning before it expires and I'd like to capture a snapshot of the results.

I have "Tuning Style" as part of the my display Header.

However, when I choose a Static Tuning (as described above), it doesn't display correctly in the Header, instead the previous built-in Tuning Style displays in the header.

For example, if I was previously using "Balanced" and change to "Static Tuning 1", "Balanced" is what is is displayed in the Header.

Does this repro for others? If so, is it a bug? Thanks!

I captured a professional tuning using pianoscope and this is what I got:

The orange line is what pianoscope gives me with Equal/Balanced and the grey line is what I captured after my piano tuner tuned the piano. He was using CyberTuner.

There are some similarities in the shape of the curves, but how would I interpret differences here and which is more likely to be a superior tuning curve?
