Next week from July 26 to 29, I will be at this year's PTG Event in Arlington. I will have a small booth at which I demo pianoscope and I will give the following two classes:

This year's PTG event was significantly different for me than the last one. Almost everyone who came to my booth had already heard of pianoscope. The technicians were particularly interested in features with which you can train your aural skills: visualization of partials, tone generation, inharmonicity and deviation curves. I also often demoed the new freeze indicator, false beat tolerance and concert pitch optimization. Even my competitors were eager to learn more about the latest improvements.
In addition to presenting the app at the booth in the exhibition hall, I gave three talks on pianoscope. In the first two I gave a general overview and answered tons of questions. In the last, Timothy Barnes, Kenny House and Nathan Mills talked about their practical experience with the app. Kenny had spent the last year training for the aural PTG exam with pianoscope, Timothy had been coaching him remotely in this process. Just before the class, Kenny had passed the exam with flying colors. Timothy and Kenny showed the exercises they have been doing in the last year. Nathan talked about how he uses pianoscope in his daily work and how he combines it with aural tuning.

All in all it was a very intense week. I met and talked to many people, felt very welcome and enjoyed every minute in this great community of piano technicians.

navindra I‘ve purchased an impact tuning hammer in Arlington and will give it a try. I tried the one from howard piano and did not like it.

Rick Are you a professional tuner? I realized I didn't have the strength/stamina/dimensions to use a lever without possibly causing myself an injury. This is why CyberHammer changed the game for me.

Frank, I'm not sure if folks have realized this yet but you've truly helped bring piano tuning to the masses... but it's awesome to see the impact among professionals as well. It's a remarkable achievement.

Yes, navindra. I'm a professional tuner in the UK since 1980. I have never used a lever longer than 10 inches or 25 cm.
