Pitch-raise hiccup?

I’m a new user, still in the trial period, and maybe this was an error on my part. I was doing a pitch-raise tuning on my son’s Kranich & Bach console, and had to stop midway. I went back a few days later and tried to resume, but the “resume” choice was no longer there, under the pitch-raise menu. I had no choice other than make a new one.

Has anyone else seen this?

OldMike This is actually by design. If the pitch-raise measurement is older than four days, I require that you make a new measurement. Behind this lies the assumption that pitch changes on its own with time and that at a certain point, it does not make sense to simply continue with an old measurement. Perhaps to pick four days as the threshold was a little bit too careful on my side.

Frank Illenberger Is this explained in the manual? I didn’t see anything about it there. It might be helpful to add it. Or put an alert when starting a pitch-raise.

I went back several days later because they live 2 hours away and I started too late. Still learning and it’s slow going for me. And I figured I’d be doing a fine tuning later anyway afterwards. It was a FaceBook freebie and hadn’t been tuned in 10 years.

There are also big differences between morning and afternoon tuning. That's why I don't understand why to go back to a tuning 4 days or more old. You have to tune the piano at the same time, or it'll be out of tune anyway.

OldMike You're right, it's missing in the manual. I will add it.

But when this happens, it should not be problem to simply start a new pitch raise and quickly sample the notes again.

If you're doing a pitch race on an instrument that hasn't been tuned in 10 years, it's very important to do a very quick rough tune. Don't go for completely clean choruses, that's not important. The important thing is FAST. Ideally if you're capable of 20 min max.
It's important for tuning stability.
