Burkhard's ingenious solution

Thought I would start a new thread regarding Burkhard's use of a Sennheiser Lav mic rather that diverging the topic on Tuning with a contact microphone.
Thought I would give this a go but only have a Ipad with a lightning connector so I bought a Pixel Finch Lav Mic, also got some new rubber wedges hoping they would be big enough. Unfortunately the wedges are not as chunky as Burkhard's. The diameter of the Finch Lav mic is around 9mm - 10mm. Is the Sennheiser XS Lav USB-C a similar size.

The Sennheiser are much smaller. Your rubber wedge seems to be identical to mine.

You could use a wired EarPod for the Lightning connector. I had simply removed the speakers for such a thing...

You can also simply attach the microphone to the rubber wedge with cable ties.

Thanks for that Burkhard. I am sure your wedge is more squarish. I will have a go at using some heat shrink to attach it to the wedge and try to get better photo's with scale markings like you have. You wouldn't believe it was taken in the middle of the day would you. When it rains here its like night time.

Not far from you. England, specifically near Manchester and it's miserable in winter.
Just got the cable wraps and even they are too small for the mic's I got. The cable is 3m long and is braided so it doesn't all fit inside. There is about 70cm of cable hanging out either side. Well I'll still give it a go and do a short shitty video when I do.
